14 - 29 August 2026
For more than forty years, our flagship summer gathering in Brussels has opened its doors to the most singular and daring performances.
Born first as Les Vendredis de la Bellone, later becoming the Festival Bellone-Brigittines, and then known as the Brigittines International Festival, it now enters a new chapter as the Brigittines Summer Festival: a dance festival open to all audiences, welcoming artists from Belgium and across Europe.
Shaped by a constantly shifting inspiration, the Brigittines Summer Festival draws nourishment from artistic worlds rich in meaning and driven by a fierce desire to tell stories — to tell stories to one another and about ourselves — on stage and out in the public space.
This summer, audiences will encounter the dialogue between tradition and modernity (Filipe Lourenço); the force of a cry through bodies in ecstatic release (Leïla Ka); the search for an elusive Other forever slipping away (Naïf Production); the hypnotic evocation of memory (Armin Hokmi); a dance that joyfully embraces self-mockery (Andrea Costanzo Martini); an unclassifiable constellation of fleeting moments (Bérangère Bodin & Ivan Fatjo); a meditation on death tinged with British humour (Solène Weinachter); and a liberating force powerful enough to set a crowd alight (Jeanne Fournier).
Ten performances. Twenty-three presentations, including three in public space. So much to discover, and just as much to bring us together.
Welcome to you all!
