The title refers to Le clash des Lopez, a video that went viral on YouTube across French-speaking countries in 2012. Teetering between seriousness and satire, the show explores the mechanisms at work in social media feuds and probes the roots of toxic masculinity.
On stage, the two dancers and the choreographer-performer use dance to reinvent clan rivalries, challenging relationships and displays of brute force. Their movements are fast, efficient and perfectly attuned to the sound reminiscent of fast flow in rap: the artists play with exaggerated virility, mimicking, mocking, and ultimately exposing it. Ambiguity is at the heart of the piece: what unfolds is by turns gripping, funny, disturbing, symbolic and at moments, genuinely chilling.
With T'façon on est en 2012, second instalment of a trilogy that began in 2021 with Toujours de ¾ face!, Les Brigittines welcomes Loraine Dambermont for the first time.
