Eyes wide shut

How can we question the knowledge we have of ourselves and others that leads to absolute trust? Is it possible to anticipate the choices of others, to perceive before seeing or hearing, to feel the other?

Surrounded by spectators, in an atmosphere of intimate gentleness, Marie Goudot and Michael Pomero create an intense, immersive experience, while blindfolded, losing their bearings. Mirroring them, two narrators guide or mislead them through words, voices and positions in space.
Little by little, through intense listening and the randomness of their senses on high alert, the duo becomes a quartet. The couple then carries the audience away into their idea of deep intimacy, dancing as if beyond appearances.

AFTER HANNIBAL is based on the real-life experience of Marie Goudot and Michaël Pomero, who have been together for nearly three decades and have performed together for choreographers such as Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker, Maurice Béjart and Russell Maliphant, to name but a few.
