The supposedly tough, hypersensitive David speaks very quickly with a strong Scottish accent. Eddie has no legs, talks less and does what he can. They both live in Cromer, on the Norfolk coast, and try as best they can to get by. It's about what we think we are and what we think we should be, it's about conformity, pretence and the way society judges individuals.
With (very) few words and lots of movement, halfway between social commentary and filmed choreography, Lloyd Newson, artistic director of the legendary DV8 Physical Theatre, made this short film in 2024, which quickly made a name for itself and has made a deep impression on everyone who has discovered it since. The brilliant film has won some twenty international awards.

An essential company in the history of New Dance in the United Kingdom, the now defunct DV8 Physical Theatre was part of an unclassifiable artistic movement, where choreography and the spoken word went hand in hand to create a politically and socially engaged art form at the crossroads of theatre and film.
