Nous ne sommes qu’à peu près en toutes choses explores the resilience of a body marked and shaped by hardship. This deeply autobiographical and intimate work, created by a striptease artist and dancer Agathe Thevenot, draws inspiration from the world and aesthetics of cabaret.

On stage, the character is pushed to the extreme, using highly precise movements to play with the codes of seduction and desire. Gradually, moments of vulnerability emerge, heightened by sound and light. The dancer’s presence becomes unstable, disoriented; glitches and interruptions open cracks in this unsettling narrative, suspended between beauty and gravity.

Working at the crossroads of dance, performance and cabaret, Agathe Thevenot is an artist based between Brussels and Paris. She has performed with numerous Belgian and French choreographers. Nous ne sommes qu’à peu près en toutes choses is her first solo creation.
