Norman, c’est comme normal à une lettre près

Norman loves to laugh, play and dance, like most other boys his age. And he also loves wearing dresses. In the garden, they whirl up in the wind as he spins, and he beams with happiness. But the moment he’s allowed to wear what he likes to school, the gaze of others shifts, thrusting him and his family into a storm of gossip. And so his dad, who accompanies him every morning, decides it’s time to take a stand... 

A pop-inspired show, both invigorating and light-hearted, which treats a seemingly trivial event with humour and poetry.

This true story explores a universal theme: how do you keep afloat on the choppy waters of social rules, when your fragile boat of identity drifts off the expected course? 
Never didactic, never moralising, the show uses humour, dance and wordplay to joyfully challenge our right to be different, whether young or old.

Created in 2021 by Clément Thirion and Marie Henry, based on Pink Boys and Old Ladies, Norman c'est comme normal, à une lettre près, has been performed more than a hundred times across the French-speaking world. 
The show received the Minister of Culture's Prize and the Press Prize at the 2022 Rencontres du Théâtre Jeune Public de Huy.
