Les Brigittines

A supported, fluid, calm, and yet charged movement. It is charged with substance, but detached, as if already far away. Outlined and unfolded, it begins its disappearance.

In an atmosphere of suspended time in which melancholy runs through the body and breathing of the dancer, a space opens up to the density of suggestion. The transparent, pared-down clarity of movement starts extensions that branch out all around. Situations in motion follow one after another like a daydream in which the thread breaks constantly but the mind reconstructs it right away.

Written with and for Daniela Zaghini, Mélancolie de l’espace is the premier of an ensemble of soloists that Cindy Van Acker will create in 2019.
