Chapel, 50’

Meet the artists after the show on 06.12

At the centre of the space sits a 1920s black piano. Under the virtuoso fingers of Claire Chevallier, choreographer Lisbeth Gruwez embraces for the first time a classical register, specifically that of Debussy.

Out of the space between the notes, movement is born while rhythm encourages nuanced representations of the body that blend into each other, always with an intense sensuality. A dialogue emerges between the freedom of contemporary dance and the composer's formal melodies, culminating in an aesthetic and subtle performance. Fifty minutes of great refinement.
