Meet the artist after the show on 31.08

Eight years after presenting their first duet, Idiot Syncrasy, the Festival will once again feature Igor Urzelai Hernando and Moreno Solinas. These two choreographers and dancers have long nurtured links with the pagan traditions of their Basque and Sardinian homelands.

Karrasekare (for carnival) is permeated by raw, exalting polyphonic songs and ancestral energies. Ultimately, the show explores the inconsolable mourning of human beings, transfigured into an orgiastic dance rising from the depths of our being. This irrepressible, spirited rise is reminiscent of a gathering of impulses in rondos combining rhythm, images, and the mysteries behind them. A structured, cathartic release.
