Les Brigittines

Caroline Shaw’s background as a violinist has given her a particular affinity for composing for the string quartet. Along with the Finnish Kamus Quartet, she presents a selection of her most exciting quartets. They reveal her distinctive style in which she draws inspiration from old masters such as Josquin des Prez, Johann Sebastian Bach and Ludwig van Beethoven.

She constantly explores new possibilities, subtly redefining what classical music can mean. In some pieces, she complements Kamus’ sixteen strings with her own striking voice.

This promises to be an intense evening in the intimate setting of Les Brigittines.
