International Festival
A trio of dancers perform a series of coincidences, reverberations and rebounds on a strip of white carpet that serves as a moor, lending their movements a singular musicality.
In an uninterrupted stream of movement, they thrust one arm or torso out towards the other, filling the empty space between them and touching it as they touch each other’s shoulders or faces. They are simultaneously restrained and propelled, experiencing meticulous alternations of tension and release.
The space trembles around them, the gestural composition is inventive, silent and spectacular. So what is Pierre Pontvianne really saying to us? He speaks of the other and of us, of course, but beyond that, he speaks of desires and solitude.
