Believe + Very Tiny Little Drop of Wax

Purcell’s mythical Cold Song from King Arthur, where the spirit of the cold reluctantly lets himself be warmed by the god of love, is played on a loop throughout the piece to highlight its haunting quality.

Burnt by the light, tetanized by the voice’s implorations, the two protagonists record the chaotic song of the fracas that runs through them, like two points of a seismograph. Bodies oscillate, vibrate, and suffer their degradation in a physical test of endurance and duration.

Combining their experiences in dance and sculpture, Lotus Eddé-Khouri and Christophe Macé have explored the relationship between gesture, music and image since 2014 with a series of choreographic mini-works, including Believe, which is one of the most impressive productions.
