Running towards the edge of a cliff,
eyes closed
Éléonore Valère-Lachky
To promote a manifesto on ecology as widely as possible
through the emotion of a human body
Note of intent
Because nothing is really in place to raise our awareness of the impact of our behaviour on the environment, it strikes me that this message should be expressed in places where we might not expect it. Therefore, this short solo is not intended for the stage, but for theatre halls and public places that provide a potential setting for this “choreographic citizen act”.
The aim of this solo piece consists in supporting and fostering the voices of scientists within the City, and in counteracting – as much as possible – the advertising rhetoric that both overwhelms and deceives us.
I wanted to use my artistic skills to speak both about the current collapse and about the alternative initiatives respectful of life, which do not enjoy the same exposure among the general public.

Presentation
In a ten-minute solo intended for public spaces, Éléonore Valère-Lachky wants to sound the alarm about the impact of our behaviour on the environment.
Ground dance, crawling, and then verticality regained as symbols of life drive, action and resistance. They all express committed support for the scientific word, the one that, in the heart of the City, tries to denounce, or even thwart, the advertising discourse, which is invasive, alienating or downright deceitful.
An artistic gesture in a state of emergency, like an alert on the brink of collapse.
